At Thong Thai Bistro, authentic Thai food begins with one important thing — ingredients.
Chef June believes good cooking cannot hide behind shortcuts or heavy seasoning. The quality of seafood, herbs, vegetables, sauces, and spices directly affects the final flavour of every dish leaving the kitchen.
That is why ingredients are selected very carefully. Many products are specially sourced or imported because certain Thai flavours simply cannot be achieved using lower-quality substitutes.
Southern Thai cooking depends heavily on freshness, aroma, balance, and natural flavour. Fresh herbs, seafood, chillies, curry ingredients, and vegetables all play an important role in creating dishes that taste authentic and full of depth.
For Chef June, every ingredient must meet her standards before it enters the kitchen. If the quality is not good enough, it does not get served.
Sometimes this means preparation takes longer and food costs become higher, but we believe diners can taste the difference when cooking is done with proper ingredients and genuine care.
